I can imagine where aspen really comes into play is with hedgecutters! I used one for only an hour yesterday and I could almost feel my lifespan shortening.

Do people really feel there is benefit to health when just using saws in the open?? not just when hedge cutting??

Saws tend to have a much better fume director than hedgecutters, also because they run at higher revs so the fumes are really blasted away.

There is a definate very noticeable difference... I'm not really worried about the benefits ref environment and use it purely for convenience and health.

No question in my mind whether it is/it isn't.

i have been on it for about 3 weeks now and am gonna buy 200 lts. the health issues are noticeable, also not having to mix fuel and store fuel and oil in containers is a small plus. as an employer it is better because i dont have to worry about jim getting the mix wrong. i know it costs more but when you start using it you dont notice the cost. my saw seem to run fine but none are very old as i try to replace them after a couple of years. Anders at aspen has been very helpful. try it and make your own mind up.

It still doesnt alter the fact that it is so much more expensive than petrol, even though 80% of pump petrol is tax, yet 80% of aspen ISNT going to the govt....so where is it going.........to cover the costs of research into it...which when covered will simply mean that Aspen are making a killing out of an industry that is running on mega tight margins already. Other than hedge trimming (which i dont do) and alaskan milling (which i do very little of) I fail to see the benefit other than for aspen fuels LTD.:confused1::001_smile:

I have been using it for over five years and never looked back, you need to protect your health at any cost, I had to buy a pallet at a time as a minimum order! Also it's not just the operator that's exposed to the fumes, think of your work mates, public, customer and above all your cab dog!
