Abseiling over brick wall.

Sounds like there's plenty of great ideas/options there:thumbup1:

Mine apart from the obvious option of setting a load off tires on fire at the bottom and burning it all was to use those protective covers that they have on ratchet straps. Plus their free, just pop down to your local over night service station and help your self to some of the back of a wagon.

Will do.

Bloke is keen. He was on at 7.45 this morning asking if I could do it or not. I told him I had come up with some great ideas!

Mesterh, I intend setting the ivy on fire just before abseiling. I always work better under pressure.:001_tongue:

Get a section of old fire hose to feed the rope through.

If you do use the "dog wire" runner make sure each end can take the full load. You only get load sharing / reduction if the anchors & load are triangulated & the angle at the load is below 120 deg

with a 100lb load the pull on each leg is

>120 deg 100lb to each anchor (so double the actual load)

80 deg 70lb per anchor

40 deg 54lb per anchor

20 deg 50lb per anchor

So to share the load between anchors keep your angle low.

  • 4 weeks later...

rock climbing style is best option by far like the guys have said. create a anchor at the top 3 or more anchors equalised with a static line and clip your running rope into a biner or pulley into that, and your away sounds my idea of heaven that job. nothing better than cliffs
