Thanks,i just thought it would be good to show a hedge a couple yrs on to see how laying a hedge improves it

Superb looking! I have yet to get the art of hedge laying down, something I would love to learn and be good at.

Guest Gimlet

Check out this support crook in the hazel hedge I laid back in February. It's hawthorn from a tree I removed that was out of line. Cut a Y from it, pointed the end and banged it into the ground to support a long piece of hazel that was spanning a gap. It's taken root a treat and in the perfect place too.

 

I've had plenty of crooks and stakes sprout but more often than not they don't come to anything. This one looks like a stayer.

Thanks. Around 2000m this season.  No matches though which is a real downer.
