on the first day we had it and on a flat playing field as it was well wet and we were loaded right up and didnt know the gears then. but not since then. we've taken it on some pretty extreme terrain recently and it has been great.

the council arent tendering Tom, they are getting prices and then deciding if they can do it cheaper:sneaky2:

At an operational level that might be the case but by the time you have added the higher level unproductive admin you definitely won’t be competitive.

Sounds to me like they are using the old "day rate con":thumbdown:

 

I know I have one of the highest day rates in my area, but we are cheaper than others on many jobs, as we do the job faster.

have you factored in all the kit and the chippers and the Iveco 4x4 into the cost of your team along with your wages and admin costs, fuels and running cost along with cost of liability insurance etc and other things you don’t see but still cost the council.

not sure about council but for most agencies they are covered by act of parliment so no they dont need specific insurance:thumbdown:
