Garmin nuvi 250 widescreen.

Does the job, but the TMC is rubbish. The TMC on my Nissan Navteq system is excellent, but it doesnt use postcodes.

I have used a tom tom, i find the route guidance clearer on the garmin, other than that they are about the same. They both tend to favour bigger roads, which can be annoying, but if you set them to shortest route then it gets really silly taking you down tiny roads.

What sat nav do have and do you rate it ? What are the tom toms like?

We have tom toms. they are good on main roads and in town. But we live in the middle of no-where so its sometimes quite a pain cos it doesn't differentiate between proper roads and silly little tracks. It will just use the shortest route so you can sometimes find yourself on a tiny little single track road, when a main road way would have been much quicker albeit, a little further in distance.

Tomtom One XL is the one to go for - simple but it tells you where to go and that's what you want from a sat nav, yes?

easy to navigate through menu's, clear maps, big screen and cheap.

I've had a TomTom One XL for a few years now. Fantastic bit of kit it's been droped and it's still not broken. Well it did once and i went to a shop to buy another but they were out of stock. Went back to the car and tried the tom tom again and it worked.
