What's the best way to secure a trailer from being towed away lads ?

 

We have just bought an Ifor box trailer and don't want it going walkabout, what do you use ?

We have got a lock on the hicth and one of th bulldog things I think.

 

The only thing is they look like anyone can smash them off.

Wheel clamp! Seen too many cases where people put a hitch lock on only. Easy, piece of chain wrapped around the A frame and off they go.

Are these all the same ? I cant see an " Avonride " variation listed on ebay etc, They mainly just say " AL KO " ?

 

Or is the style " AL KO " ONE TYPE FITS ALL ?

Most trailer theives will clamp an A frame over the tow eye to avoid any small locks on the tow eye. It's best to chain through the chassis to the floor then wheel clamp! I also use an alarm padlock on the handbrake to prevent it from being dropped down.

a big dog helps too.... electrifying the chassis can be fun as well...
