How would you dress for an interview for a job in arb?

I'm a newly qualified chainsaw operative, been in landscaping for over 2 years and I'm now looking for a job as a groundy/trainee climber.

Just wondered, the guys on here that employ people, how would you expect me to dress for an interview?

Suited & booted and I feel the employer may think I don't wanna get my hands dirty. But jeans and t-shirt, will they think I've not made an effort?

I've never really interviewed anyone, more needed staff given them a go, you know within a couple of hours if they're any good or not. Done a few intereviews though most grilling for the RAF.

I would say a smart pair of jeans, shoes, and a plain t-shirt/jumper/shirt etc would suffice.

Normally the company will give you an indication of what they expect, if not give them a bell and ask them.

ppe and ready for a work trial :001_smile:

What he said.

Real arborists surely don't have time for a sit-down interview. A trial shift is much more representative of a potential employee's skills, commitment and attitude.

Anyway, I'm sure he has his reasons. If it were me I'd wear a casual buttoned shirt with the sleeves rolled up, nice jeans and some normal (but clean) boots.

To me that says 'Hey, I can get my hands dirty, but you can still take me seriously cause I'm not dressed like a tramp'
