climbing at night

as above ,any one here done night work before ,im just about to go in and do a shift ,just wonderd if any of you lads have done it before ?

Emergency call out by the police to make safe a silver birch on main road, they had their car search lights up it for me and cordoned the road off , quickest climb ive ever done i think , adrenaline was pumping as it had got quite a crowd - even in the middle of the night!

Done plenty of call out work at night. Buy a really good head torch.

Done a fair few railway nights in past, the slugs are not nice to find with your hands, as the come out at night and graze the moss on sycamores.

 

It was Ok till some one decides to move your flood light, as they need it.

Get a decent head torch, used to do a fair bit of nights on the railway, Can be pretty sureal climbing at night, I found i was abit better, The lads i worked with said it was coz i couldnt see the ground, so i didnt pap myself as much

you need a good head torch but the best bit for me was not having to jump out of bed in the morning, you go to bed when you get back and wake up some time in the afternoon and have the rest of the day to get ready, fix saws, go shopping whatever! its great

Only once or twice, worst being a large Oak split in half from top to bottom (lightning) half the crown attached to half the stem, was a wierd wobbly thing! was glad to be out of that tree!

just with call outs or trying to finish a job, pita i thought, its other lights that are a nightmare i found, and i would worry about groundies.
