Apart from the usual files, combi spanner, carb screwdriver, spare bar nuts, spare fuel caps, spare chains, etc...

I have a strimmer combi spanner which is torx headed and another smaller combi spanner in 8mm and 10mm , the shaft is hexagonal allan headed.

With those three combis and a carb screwdriver you can pretty much strip a saw down to parts in the field.

Another useful thing to carry in your saw toolbox is an emergency one shot of 2 stroke to make up 5 litres of mix, should you run out on a job, as I did for the first time in 6 years last week.... :blushing::biggrin:

Yep those one shots can be a lifesaver. I've got a few dotted around the place, car, van, shed, garage, etc etc. Only thing would be finding one when needed........

Most of the specialy stuff like Stihl flywheel pullers I just make myself . M22 1.5 metric hydraulic bango fitting and M11 1.5 Ford head bolt work just dandy ,cheap too .

If I have a use for it,I make it .I still use the old freeze and heat method to split cases because I don't do that many but if I did there would be a case splitter made for that too .

Disappeared within in a heartbeat of putting it in the toolbox:001_huh:

yeah we've seen and used one, they dont last two minutes!!

much better to use a bench mounted one in the workshop.

even better, mount it onto a block of wood, so you can use it in a vice, then remove it to use the vice on other applications

Pliers for undoing the husky fuel cap which grips tight as the fuel goes down & the slot is worn out from years of combi spanner abuse. Oh, and an old toothbrush for clearing crap from those hard to get at places, on the saw that is, not down my nether regions!

Not a toolbox item but a workshop must have is a tachometer.

Also, a workshop manual. For no other reason than they give pictures of the special tools so you can make them youself!!
