What would you not be without for chainsaw maintenance?

What little gadgets are a must have for your toolkits?

I'm trying to build up a comprehensive range of maintenance tools and would like to see what people use most... For the last 14 yrs I have rated one of my Mum's old butter knifes for scraping out sideplates and cleaning bar surfaces! Genuine Sheffield Steel!

Cheers.

One of those little orange flat head screwdrivers you get with a stihl, BUT, Grind it down a bit so its thin enough to clean out the bar groves and other crooks and grannies and narrow enought to clean out the oil hole when you turn the bar :blushing:.

It can still adjust the carb/tickover and remove the air filter cover on an 020 to give it a quick thumb wipe:thumbup:

I bought one of those topsaw tools that looked great.

Disappeared within in a heartbeat of putting it in the toolbox:001_huh:

Combi spanner seems to feature most; for bar nuts, spark plug and scraping out dust from cover etc. Stihl carb screwdriver for oil flow adjustment, carb screws and sometimes bar oil hole. And an original bar groove cleaner (pictured). Sometimes a torx for Stihl bolts. Feeler guage for the plug gap?:blushing: Wee brush for the air filter. :001_smile:
