New kit! what have you bought?

I was talking with my mate Bob in Bournemouth yesterday about his Delica. His is a long wheelbase, apparently rare. Is yours short and same as the Pajero/Shogun?

Is that Bob of this parish, AspenArb?

 

I've no idea, i think mines probably the short wheelbase or whatever is standard. 

 

Many parallels with the Shogun in terms of running gear and suspension. A few things that will need someone familiar with jap imports.

No. Both called Bob and both drive Delicas but I suspect aspenbob is less good in bed. Do ask if you run into maintenance problems. My Bob has had his for ages and has done head gaskets on the side of French motorways etc.

Spent a few hours sewing up my Arbortec breathflex trousers. Horrible shite, the outer cloth rips for fun.

Ordered a pair of Pfanner Arborist C trousers for £290. I'm told they last ages as the outer cloth doesnt catch or rip on brambles.

You will find them much more hard wearing.

The guy who recommended them said his were 5 years old, used every day. Condition looked like new, dirty but no rips or any sign of damage.

 

Anyway this was the shop, showing out of stock at the moment but they appear decent and have good prices, about £60 less than elsewhere.

Elsewhere I read that Oregons are also reasonably good, and I could use a pair of type A so ordered these which came today.

Quite impresssed, the outer material looks decent, fit well if a bit long/high on the waist.

Only comment is the lack of phone or wedge pockets.

 

Wish I got some a year ago rather than mess about repairing the Arbortec pair, they really are shite.

Well done. Pretty amazing value at that price -so just sew your own pocket etc on, for that money!?

I think my Strauss (vented) Class A's around £130? measure up pretty well against my Pfanner Vents -around £300+, from memory..

I've been wearing Solidur from Chris Forestry, deeper pockets and better zips than the pfanners. On sale at the moment too.

Whilst back in Blighty I am exploiting the consumables/cheap kit market, had some stuff from Chainsawbars delivered to the MIL house, always fantastic service. 
Then picked up these bargains off fleabay, Andrew Arbpro for £160 and a pair of Meindl Airstream for £180, I’ve never owned a pair of either, they may even see me through to retirement.
