So, 2014 Ford Tipper just died.

Second engine on her, and numerous work to her over the years.

Will have to wait until Monday to see what my mechanic says, might have to get another as not sure to keep throwing money at it.

Any heads up on what to stay away from or what to look out for?

Or just keep the old dog going?

I keep getting told there's nothing but S%&T out there now!

Depends what work you do and how important image is.

for me it’s not, so I run multiple tippers and pickups on a fleet policy.

this leaves change in the kitty for all the toys that make the cash.

Caveat is that I only work locally. If I were driving fifty miles each day for a job then I’d be doing like I do with the machinery- buying it new with as long as warranty as possible and then changing it soon as that’s up.

Have you ever had to exercise a warranty on a new machine?

Yes, my blue Ranger developed a leak from the gearbox area a month or so before the end of the three (or two) year warranty.
Fixed without any quibble.

Hey doobin.

Do you not think a new pick up after warranty is up will be a massive loss in depreciation?

I bought a cheap 2021 new shape D Max (cheap as in 5-7K less than others advertised).
It will be out of warranty shortly, and currently on 94K miles.

Done 20,000 in it since last August.

My first thought was keep it til it’s 5 years old or 125,000 for Isuzu warranty then flog it and buy another but looking at the price of them it’s a big out put just for a motor to get you to work…
