SRT training courses

Are there any courses in 2025 for learning to climb SRT? (if they're not a thing they need to be). I'm employed so I don't pay for my gear, which does prevent me from trying different kit and techniques. It also doesn't help that my boss dismisses the idea of SRT completely so getting some kit to try is slim. A course in learning the basic techniques and trying some different kit would be great. It would be nice to be able to go to work and not be trying srt for the first time. cheers

Lantra have an SRT course, various training providers around the country offer the course, some with an aerial rescue refresher (that I assume incorporates the SRT equipment and techniques into rescue).

I'm sorry but any boss that dismisses SRT entirely is a Dodo. Fine if he doesn't want to learn or use it himself, but the benefits for his business in making your climbs more efficient and reducing occupational injuries should be clear to anyone who cares to try and understand it.

There’s a video thing that Lawrence Schultz does, google it.

Lots of peeps say it’s really good, you’ll have to pay, but either way you’ll have to put your hand in your pocket.

This is how I got going with SRT.

I've looked at the lantra course, it'd be good to hear from someone who's done it whether they think it's worthwhile as I would go if it is.

I think you will get the most out of it if you have been climbing for a while and can see the options/possibilities for the techniques being delivered, maybe a bit lost on a newby.

Probably best to do some research on who is delivering the course too, I don’t want last years college ‘star’ who has never done the job showing me the ropes.
Arborventure in the New Forest do it, multiple world champion comp climber as instructor, Ben Rose or Dave Daniels of London Chainsaw Training , or the rope wizard that is Terry Barnyard would be my first port of call.

they have probably updated this book now, at the time it came out the new devices were still being developed, maybe worth buying and going through before paying out for a course

Edit - can't see a newer edition on sale, so over 10 years old and probably a bit dated now
