Could easily be actors.

Anythings possible, but I'm not fully retarded.

The police were sympathetic enough, the tv licence wankers were officious enough, the man with phone camera was indignant to the point of sounding like a bit of a weapon himself. Didn't seem fake.

Shouldn't be hard to find.

TV License... if they had a big squad out there enforcing them we'd know about it I think. Chances are the ones on the TV had been dropped in it by a friendly neighbour. Getting a high court writ for everyone? Probably not,

Not sure though if shops have to report who buys a TV? Something in the back of my mind.

Woodsure... probably enforced the same way, someone with a reason to lets them know and round they pop.

Cutting and splitting logs is ok if you have space, and if you've got a shelter then could fill days you have to cancel for weather - or mean you don't have to go out in some of the rain you otherwise would.

The problem I had is selling and delivering is a pain, people all ring just before Christmas then you have to make appointments when people are in etc. This is all not when you have spare time, it's in busy season for tree work.
