Just cough up and get a 550xp .

A new ms251 is hardly any cheaper than the 550xp MK2 so whats  the point of  anyone buying them just makes no sense to me at all?

Battery saws are  nice to have but the decent ones plus a few batteries are more expensive than a good 50cc saw  and less useful allrounders.

If you have the cash get the battery saw once to have the 50cc petrol as an additional second saw...

Yes. Petrol clutch disengages around 3000rpm.

Clutch plays no part in stopping a chain with your finger on the trigger . The ballistic material snags on the chain and jams the powerhead sprocket . This all in a nano second .

Yeah I thought  its sounded like BS but as its on the official website, so thats  probably where the idea started from?

Would a mains corded saw  be any difference to battery i don't think so?

I read the corded electric was more difficult to stop as the spinning electric rotor was directly coupled to the chain and so had more inertia pulling the chain. The petrol saw clutch slipped and released faster. @adw may know more. Skin, pull and rice pudding come to mind when talking battery saws.

Dunno, I have battery saws with and without clutches.

The non clutch saws just stop dead, like a battery drill.

They are not the Terminator.

I don’t see why a saw that cuts through wood quicker wouldn’t go through chainsaw chaps quicker.
