Yes Andy she,s really ill mate,just got back from vets,they,ve admitted her again,she,s really struggling now

Well here she is,Betty back home justnow,she had pyometra in the end they found out which is apparently rare in such a young dog,nearly lost her last night,hoping she makes a good recovery now

Fingers crossed for you both Gary .  What is pyometra and how do they contract it ?

Cheers Stubby,its an infection in the womb and they have to be spayed to correct it,but so unlikely in a young dog

As you say uncommon in a young dog, our Irish Wolhound had it recently but she is about 11.

Yes . I was advised by my vet to have one of my spaniels done when she was about 4 years old as her " strawberry "  did not shrink down again after a season .

Good news Gary, thank goodness for that. She's young and strong,  she'll be ok now hopefully. You'll probably get some sleep now.

It didn,t show up on the first scan last Thursday and by last night it had got so bad we nearly lost her,2 days and nights in the vets hospital and a HUGE bill but got her back and fingers crossed
