They work atleast 2 or 3 days a week during the season. Sometimes even 4 or 5. All of them are completely different especially when it comes to the beater days at the end of the season. Charlie hangs back and retreives. Bramble puts up and retreives and Bracken put em up and very occasionally retreives. Bramble did the longest retreive last season. 850 Yards for a hard hit cock bird. We were all impressed.

Thats an awesome retrieve mate.

My Toller cant be bothered (he's nearly 11), my Patty isnt interested in dead things and the Cocker still struggles with and trips over big cocks wings!!!!! All of them love to flush though, but we only work 11 days in the season plus dogging-in all year round.

Using a Patterdale for blanking-in on Shoot days makes for interesting conversations on with Guns, the Duke of Northumberland couldnt believe his eyes!!! Made his afternoon though

My boyo Finley. Unfortunately he was killed by a car at the age of 2 back in June. I'd just got him nicely trained and could have him wandering around me while I was working. I can't bare to get another as I don't think I could stop comparing them with Finley. Having said that, if one presented itself to me, spur of the moment, then I would probably get 'im!

These are the terrible trio. Charlie (mostly brown, slightly ragged looking) is 11 years old and still going strong. Bracken (smaller of the 3, saddle back, mad hair do) is 4 years old and is the borther of Bramble the biggest spaniel weve got. All of them are worked during the shooting season.

hiya Matt , lost looking at you post and can not beleive that i have two springer that are also borthers who are also called Bramble and Bracken - how strange , even more so when they look so similar to your Bramble and Bracken, however I'm pretty sure that neither of yours could possibly be as mad on tennis balls as our Bramble, he was pawing the the mother inlaw's car today as she had a tennis ball in the boot of her car !!!! we should have taught him to sniff for money or drugs ! we would be loaded by now (or arrested) any way just thought I would say how nice your springers look.
