Maybe with the small size of our army, it's a plan to get everyone driving old restored army land rovers.

They always seem to have an almost ungodly number at these army surplus places.

Just looked at the list of exotic Lamborghini and Ferrari type stuff in the over 255 emissions table but tucked in there are some fairly popular pick ups and work vehicles

Toyota Hilux 2.8D

Toyota Land Cruiser 2.8D

Volkswagen Amarok 3.0 TDI
Ford Ranger 2.0 TD EcoBlue

Ford Ranger 3.0 EcoBlue

Ford Ranger 3.0 V6

INEOS Grenadier 3.0

Seems these trucks are gonna be in for a  first year hammering tax wise soon. £5490 as I read it !!. I might be wrong but if it’s the case that’s my 68 plate Ranger gonna be going until it dies. Pure lunacy and as business unfriendly as it could possibly be. Well done Labour.

If the 2l ranger is in the same class as the 3l ranger it makes a mockery of its eco claims.

I think there is much much more to the mockery game.

That is a massive surprise. Mind you how hard can any single government kick businesses before someone on the  inside wakes up to the consequences.

Does that even warrant a reply, they'll keep kicking that can down the road until it's worn down to a 5p piece.

I'm guessing they'll be doing something against HGVs next, probably enforcing euro 6 as a standard or charging older ones considerably more unless you put a new engine in it.

Low hanging fruit argument, but the cost won't be on the consumer. Erm if I need it you'll be paying.
