replacing broken cord on sash window

made a mouse out of old throwline and a length of 8mm bar, then pile hitch to get the fat cord threaded through the pulley and out through where the sash weights go inIMG_20240905_145148_731.thumb.jpg.4ce1892b412b7a7a5b44fc5bbfc2cb14.jpgIMG_20240905_145328_788.thumb.jpg.075d7839f0e61dce642bee52bac4c194.jpg

Nice non-arb application of knots.

Sat down for 1 of my other breakfasts earlier and decided I’d had enough of my conny hedge, so removed that, then got told about a box full of cakes along the rd, then went to get fencing panels and came back and started de mossing my roof but got bored of that slow process.  Went and took the larch out a boggy bit of ground with the digger as a village favour then been back eating more cake.

I reckon taking that connie hedge out can only be classed as pottering as presumably you did it with the shear, sitting in a nice digger cab. Had it been with a chainsaw might be a bit of a stretch to call it potttering, but then then I suppose the village goodwill job swings it as a potter overall.

Big day today of pottering, new power steering belt for the mog is due in today so I’ll plan on simply starting that but who knows where I’ll end up.  On Monday I went to put the bins out and ended up organising a new kitchen and 2 skylights.  I’ve to go to the other village to the post office so that’s bound to lead to a mini adventure.

I might get qualified to assess for ADHD, reckon I'd clean up with you lot

Premium lightweight pottering here today. Though it was fairly inevitable with a 5 year old shadow in tow all day due to a forced day off to cover another bloody school teacher training day. (There's a very generous handful every year now. I'm sure we barely had any back in the day. It grates).

After 6 weeks off paid.

"Should we go back to work not for a bit before October half term?"

"Nah reckon it's time for a training day"

Gathered lots of brash and scrap wood from around the garden and made a new border along part of the drive, filled hugelculture style, partly with woodchip and part big chunks, then managed to top it with a few barrowloads of soil from one of my spare mounds before it was time to collect the children. Another 6 or 7 barrows should just about do the trick. I have all sorts of rescued plants waiting to go in.

Clottering today. That's pottering with clocks.😁

Nothing technical, just titivating between cups of tea, coffee and biscuits.

Contemplated my project piece, but it's beer o'clock so another day. You can't rush time you know.😊

Last day in paradise, will sit on the beach with a crossword or two, make a few rock stacks, stand in the sea admiring the view, watch the Vultures gain height to cross the mountains and think about what to eat for supper!

Yule, Navarre, Wall, Cologne.
