Shoplifting, too easy, no penalty!

Caz and I were just going in to our local Co Op to see a younger bloke rushing in. Before we got to the door, he rushed out and ran across the carpark! He was clutching two bottles of wine and just legged it out and looked back as he got to the edge of the property. My lad works in Retail at a local Morrison's and amazes us with tales of the daily occurances of theft and how little is done to curb this crime. The Police cannot get there quick enough, often, the CPS cannot prosecute, they cannot put up pictures of the thief's mugs, thief's think that they will be unchallenged as they are gypsy's,  foreign nationals, racial minorities,  homeless or just don't care that they are thieving!

Don't know what the answer is...

No idea as to the answer, but I think the Co-op suffers particularly badly from shoplifting. Don't know why. They're normally specifically mentioned in news reports on this issue.

Granted, no security by the door but most others do! No alarms etc in meat etc, easy target. But, why are people compelled to break the law and why is the response so negative!?!

See someone shoplifting baby formula or sliced bread?

No you didn't.

?

Baby formula will sometimes have the big security tags on, it's a popular item to lift, costs the same as a bottle of whisky

I imagine the junkies prefer the rustic sourdough to the mothers pride plain loaf

Or maybe they need to get wasted to numb there pain , possibly from bad stuff that would make you think twice, I say fair game.

As they are!!

When I was waiting on my Merrist Wood course to start I worked evenings mostly as a supervisor at a local CO-OP.

They have a non-interference policy that I just couldn't stick to.

Once, a local junkie rocked up on a bike carrying a large stripey laundry bag and proceeded to empty all the cheese shelves.

I watched until he dragged the bag out of the door before challenging him.

He was so skinny and unfit he couldn't lift the bag he'd filled and was at a loss.

I grabbed the bag and had 'To me to you' tussle before it split and he dropped it in the middle of the road blocking traffic.

He ran for his bike, I grabbed his coat which slid off his underfed frame and coatless he rode off.

Locals helped clear up the cheese and nothing more was done.

Even when I caught staff stealing the Co-op's HR LGBTQ creature quizzed me and told me that before I arrived there was none of this trouble and I should not interfere as that was for security not a supervisor.

Incensed, I ****************ed them over with a series of petty micro sabotage before leaving but that is best recounted over a beer.

Was sitting at the back of the van having lunch the other day when a couple of 'street vendors' approached to ask if "ye wantin tae buy ony ham or cheese pal?". I asked if it was cow or goat, "naw pal, its frae asda like".

Being more of an m&s kind of a guy I passed on their amazing offer.
