How about getting 2 throws over the main top and base tying them, then cinching anchors to the main stem. Use a traverse hook (like the DMM captain ) to get you out to the pollard heads? Then use slings for foot placement

Lapsed pollards can be total shit, proper pollards can be works of art. I past these london Planes on the way to football with the boy this morning.

And you don’t try to turn pollards back into proper trees like Manco does, you re-pollard them.

You don't turn pollards back into normal trees, but you can try and turn topped trees back into normal trees

Looks like a very straightforward re-pollard of a willow with no overly heavy limbs.

Nice standard job every 3-4 years by the looks of it - only way to keep a large specimen like this in that size garden 👍

Take the biggest ladder you own, figure it out when you get up there. There's knubs and stubs up there to stand on, big vee on the right for a rest.

 

See if you can slide out some of those fancy fence panels before you get going too, that trellis work looks a bit fragile.
