Diesel heater for workshop

Our workshop here is separate to our main building and we use a plug in 32amp heater. It doesn't really heat the area until about 4pm after being on since 8am.

We have priced up air con and it is pretty reasonable. We should be able to get the workshop up to temperature quickly but also in the summer cool the area from mid 30's to a reasonable 20 odd.

You can get air con units that'll service a double garage space for a few hundred quid. Worth looking into.

And

c) by the time I’d fricked around lighting it and it started giving out decent heat I could have often finished what I’d gone into the workshop to do in the first place.

Tyres don’t light that quickly, even soaked in waste oil and petrol.

You stuff them with foam rubber.

I could make you an ace stove out of a 50kg gass bottle.

My thoughts exactly 👍

I'm thinking about a Chinese diesel heater, set up so it's mobile so I can take it camping/down the other yard/in my defender on cold mornings etc

But it probably needs to be pointed out that it would not be legal to run it on red (unless it as part of a forestry or agriculture setup of course).

Perfectly legal to run on red, why anyone would bother though is beyond me, they run better/cleaner on kerosene which is a lot cheaper than red.
