Lanyard idea.

The stowed saw has to be actually clipped to the harness or it will dislodged by branches and stuff. Imagine climbing up three feet and then being stopped by your saw lanyard - your saw has lodged in a fork, your upward motion has overcome the magnet. Now you have to descend to free the saw. If the saw is high clipped with a true clip, you'd notice immediately the saw got stuck.

Well yeah, if occasionally it did get yanked off, it wouldn’t be an issue.

You don’t have to descend to free the saw, just lean back, give it a wiggle and it’s free.

Well that just added a couple grand to your £200 device 😀

This sort of tech is very commonplace, similar to my smart key for my truck.
I can have it in my pocket, and on the second tug of the door handle it opens.
Does not have to be a switch on the saw.
Open to ideas?

You have to remember we are a small industry and stick the word ‘Arb’ in front of anything and it automatically trebles the cost. Oh except websites which seem to be the reverse 😀

Tell me about it! Still making the payments for my Arborella!

I’m assuming the everyone turns off their petrol saws when they’re high clipping them?

Anyone with any sense! This is actually one thing I dislike about the battery saws, it being theoretically possible to knock off the chainbrake and rev the motor with the saw at your side. I suppose the husky model at least had an off off button
