I think there are varieties that will coppice, but how well they do may depend on many other factors. I’m definitely going to seriously consider it. Perhaps for this winter.

Eucalyptus burns hot and is good firewood but needs to be logged and split almost immediately as once it drys out a bit it’s awful to split. Got a small supply from a garden I helped to clear a few years ago, it was good but I don’t like the fact that nothing lives in it or on it. Kind of like rhododendrons and look at the problems they cause !

It could be a bit of a fire risk as well. Eucalyptus trees burn like stink once they start. They might be regretting planting so much of it in Portugal right now.

I live in Wales, it rains a lot! And the eucs are spread out amongst other trees, I don't feel too much at risk!

 

I don't find it too hard to split either, though I generally split it soonish after felling.

Oak burns slow, throws cozy heat, and gives off that sweet aroma. If you're in the mood for a quick dance of flames, birch brings the party with its bright sparks.

I like the way Hawthorn has a kinda blue flame . And how Holm Oak burns a bit like coal with a glow .

Still not sure madmax is a person. In fact thinking not given other post in working away accomodation.
