Small saw long bar

I’m 6 foot 4 and much prefer to cut long lengths up on the floor for firewood, instead of humping them into some cutting rack. Providing you were just using the first 8 inch or so of a bar, could a 40 50cc saw cope with a 24 inch bar or is just pulling the bar alone too much stress on a saw of that size. I get the fact I could kneel down but would prefer to stand up.

The biggest problem with running a long bar on a small saw is the legions of doomsayers who insist you might as well be running it on meths and used engine oil. Fuxking obviously it’s not optimal but if you’ve got a particular need, just crack on. Your bar oil should be on max already anyway. Treat it sympathetically, keep chain speed up and you’ll be amazed how little happens besides you cutting stuff up at an infinitesimally slower pace than a catalogue configuration.
