Right, wrong, or just playing the game?

You do realise that this clip proves my point and not yours right?

In the UK we are not legally forced to carry Photo ID on us at all times. We are not required to show Photo ID when requested to by the authorities going about our daily and personal business.

BoJo, rightly or wrongly by stating he would sooner eat that ID than produce it is in clear reference to this.

So yet again, the context shows this has nothing to do with being required to show Photo ID when someone wants or wishes to perform a certain task, be it fly internationally, buy alcohol when questioned about your age, collect good from the Post Office, or in this case when wishing (not being forced) to vote.

Well, you certainly blew that one in three chance of you being disingenuous, eh? That leaves you at no surprise to anyone in the other category.

Ok, we’ll have it your way. More laws/rules imposed on us all by people who don’t think those laws/rules should apply to them, good luck with that. Can you see why I’ve tried to drop out of the system, best I can? I don’t want leading by people who don’t want to play the same game I have to play. Have a good day, I’ve got to wind the jacks and move.

Its not my way Eggs, you where just plain and simply wrong.

Laws that dont apply to them? So you think BoJo does not need to show Photo ID when he jumps on a Plane? Are you for real here?

Care to explain what rules, in this context, does not apply to BoJo? You cant can you.

Bojo has a diplomatic passport that he’s admitted he’s never shown, (do you want another link) he is also Visa free. But we’ll rock on with your thinking, one rule for him and another rule for the rest of us.

A link proving your point would be novel.

But you admit that he does in fact own Photo ID? Interesting…..,

Yes, of course he has photo ID like a lot of us, there are many that don’t though, but you’ll choose to ignore that. I’m working with a charity in Stoke at the moment, you wouldn’t believe how many people come in there that haven’t even got a bank account, never mind photo ID. Any way trig, I’ve got to pull now, catch ya later.

I’ve not chosen to ignore anything. On the contrary I posted a government link to where you can apply for a free Photo ID to enable you to vote should you wish.

Take it easy Eggs.

Eggs,

I also clearly stated my clear belief(& personal knowledge) of how susceptible to abuse the postal voting system is, and how widespread this abuse is, based on the phenomenal rise in the numbers demanding a PV, almost certainly managed by various political factions and parties. As was the case here in N.I. 50-45 year ago.  What can be done about it is something of an intractable problem, is the problem, but the first step would be to correctly manage eligibility for access to a PV.

Oh! Re Bojo and I.D. cards, I agree with the assessment Andy postulates on Bojo's likely stance, the clear difference between Plod demanding to see an I.D. card "whenever" and the need to prove who you are when voting.

Again this need for voter I.D. has become more pertinent in recent years with the  greater  general mobility of the population and excerbated in certain "ghetto" areas in larger conurbations.

Having probably the most important job in the country has to come with some perks don’t you think?

"Were they Indian?"

Funny you mention that, here we were in the trial area for showing ID and the reason given was because of voting fraud in a ward predominated by first and second generation immigrants from Pakistan.
