Think you heard wrong. Had the 550 mkii about three years now and it’s bomber. Early 5 series saws were temperamental, with this they ironed out all those quirks. My 2011 560 was awful.

Odd innit ? my 2011 560 is still going strong . Tweaked by petemate on here though .

Maybe better when it goes?

 

Anecdotally, seems to be more warranty claims on them than would be ideal.

 

After all, what's still being made as well as it used to be!
