Farmer log splitter recommendations

Just looking for recommendations for a tractor mounted log splitter. I’m not doing thousands of tons of logs but we do a fair amount for our own use and sell a little. I’ve been recommended an Oxdale splitter but it looks a fairly light duty build? Ideally just after something that’s reasonably quick and with a comfortable working height, also one that won’t break the bank! Would happily buy a used machine if there’s anything around? Located in Devon. Thanks

Can’t help cos I don’t do logs.

But if I did I’d get a processor, have you considered that?

A Thor  popped up on market place the other day at Oakhampton. Not used one but always heard good things about them

We have an oxdale for the stuff which is too big or too knotty for the processor. On the floor works well for putting big rings under it.

 

Keep meaning to get some longer hoses for it so that I don't have to take off whatever is on the back of the tractor.

Run a oxdale, and made a table to good work height and long hoses split tons of wood with it.

I have a Hymari 13 ton tractor mounted splitter I would like to sell. 

 

In good condition and barn stored. 

 

Can be worked from a vertical or horizontal position.

I had my Oxdale on the trailer with the rings and some long hoses to work it.

Nice setup on an Ifor flat bed and quick enough if your tractor is fairly modern, rather slow on vintage tractors with small hydraulics.

I since bought "bigger and better" splitters but wish I had kept my Oxdale too.
