thats not a very good advert ? , once had a pair of the Stihl basic £99 boots and they did me 7 yrs, got a pair of Meindl wood walkers at moment and seem to be ok but not as comfy as the stihl ones i had,,

Most makes only give 3 months warranty on footwear. A bit crap really!

Mine have been going strong for three year of forestry use, including a fair amount of work on very rocky Skyline site. 

 I got them to replace a stihl pair I had that lasted less than two months on the same site before all the stitching came undone!

been using my husky functionals for about 3 months in all weathers mud and crap just give them a wipe off and light dry out been ok so far . last pair of boots i had i trashed by trying to dry them near the heater lesson learned .

I currently have 2 pairs of boots ( and won't be buying anymore ) . Pfanner Zermatts and Haix something or other ( red ) and neither of them has done the above .

I seldom wear my woodwalkers now, they are pushing 10 years old. I have just checked the joint between the boot and the vibram sole and no sign of cracking yet. Like @Stubby I won't be buying more, indeed I doubt I will buy any ppe replacements.

Are you feeling your age? Has Stubby got your contact details? Many would miss your all round tech-knowledge if you suddenly fell off the perch ...

The reason I wont be buying any more shit is because I have 4 x pairs of strides 2 X pairs of boots 6X saws 2X strimmers and lots of other associated gear and I am nearly 70 years old and everything I have will probably outlast me 🙂

I've seen your pics of your 395xp on here a few times. I sold mine (xpg) on ebay a few years ago for half what I bought it for! Doh! If only I'd kept onto it...

Well unlike stubby I haven't got more than one pair of boots, one pair class A trousers past their best and some orange class C and two out of date hats but people are not asking me to do work now so I only cut logs.

 

Having a blood clot take me by surprise a year ago I guess I am somewhat at risk but growing old always seems accompanied by ailments.

 

I aim to get to the median age of death in 13 years but who knows, I am still relatively fit.
