NFU: Truck & Trailer £500 p/a

P/L, E/L and tools (but only 15k) £500 p/a.

No experience of claims handling / payouts.

However, I recently contacted them with a new asset inventory and the premium went up to £1900 plus VAT - told them they can forget it and insured the rest with arbinsure for £200!

Not sure what to do at renewals; keep 2 policies or re-bundle it etc.

PL & EL No body's mentioned Lycetts (used to be Algarve) underwritten by Axa they seemed to be the only people that would insure arb a few years back when most wouldn't touch treework or scaffolders, been with them for 11 yrs, last renewal shopped around, yes a few were a little cheaper with less excess, but they weren't offering the same service when confronted about the policy excess they halved it to match the rest!

Switch between B&K and trust I think, play one off against the each at renewal time.

Local company Drayton Insurance (similar to NFU) will insure trailers which includes chippers up to £20K as part of preminum, but make sure this is on the endorsement it took me 6 weeks to finally get it amended.

Anyway doesn't matter who is cheapest what you really want to know is who pays out, what is paid what when you need it to - luckily can't help you there, but planty has been said in the past about thefts etc

i have been with trust for 4 years now and was chatting to then about renewing my insurance two weeks ago , i did say that i was going to get comparetive quotes and they actually asked me to get back to them - i have not got any quotes yet but i will be doing that this week . anyway a little further into the conversation i was chatting about switching betwene insurance companies for pl,el and fleet cover , they told me quite simply that it is proven that you can get better renewel quotes if you stay with one company as your seen as a preferable customer and that they will give bigger discounts to you and much much better offers , also they were saying that it really does help to be honest when filling in questions about turnover , etc etc as that too can reduce the premium . last but not least how many insurance companies do any of you know that will let a 24 year old bloke stick his subaru impreza on the fleet policy as a company vehicle ??

after reading the posts on this thread i contacted nfu to get a quote, a guy came to see me and took details and said he would get back to me, 10 days later and he has just rung to say he is still looking into it. i thought it would be quicker than that.
