Possibly, but normally road names around toll booths give them away, names like Westgate, Denesgate. I posted the picture on a canal forum, it was suggested it could have been a gauging booth but it’s to far away from the cut for that.

I had a Google Earth look earlier funnily enough - on the junction with Chapel Street and Albert Place. Interesting looking building, the bit at the back which is a different age is also quite unusual. 
No idea what it’s for though!

I know this one, it spans the M6 toll road. Without Google what do you reckon it is, ‘bridge’ to nowhere..

I've seen that, isn't it an aqueduct? Or at least an empty one.

Yes, it’s an aqueduct, when the toll road was built it was agreed that the cut would be diverted, never happened.

Had a bridge like that for years - a road bridge to no where - they did some road building and with some left over cash built the bridge years early for the next stage, eventually it was all linked together but I think that bridge was a posh stable for about 10 years (nothing under it either, just bridge in a field)

My mate, who’s long gone,, worked on the toll road from start to finish, he opened it with the first safety vehicle, he told me the aqueduct would never be used.

If it’s in the Peak District it’s definitely got something to do with sheep getting bummed/farmers getting bummed by a sheep. Fact.
