Possibly, but normally road names around toll booths give them away, names like Westgate, Denesgate. I posted the picture on a canal forum, it was suggested it could have been a gauging booth but it’s to far away from the cut for that.

I had a Google Earth look earlier funnily enough - on the junction with Chapel Street and Albert Place. Interesting looking building, the bit at the back which is a different age is also quite unusual. 
No idea what it’s for though!

Had a bridge like that for years - a road bridge to no where - they did some road building and with some left over cash built the bridge years early for the next stage, eventually it was all linked together but I think that bridge was a posh stable for about 10 years (nothing under it either, just bridge in a field)
