Not so sure Stubby? There are still plenty of chaps who will be at remembrance parades next week who have a direct first hand experience of what they’re capable of? Backed up of course by Chinese on that occasion!

That was of course the last proper outing the NKs have had (off the top of my head...?) they've not had much experience since then... so they aren't exactly dropping the A-team into the fray.

I understand NK are hugely grateful for the opportunity to get some first-hand combat experience to bring home, and up their own training standards a little.

From what I've heard/read not many consider it to be of any significance on the ground.

From a military operations point of view they make up less than 1% of the Russian contingent that are deployed. They're also plucked from a population in poverty, around 60% malnourished, even the elite unit commandos (their special forces) aren't well fed or experienced, and can't carry out more than basic training due to lack of fuel and other resources.

It's the political aspect that both countries gain from, Putin can push back another extremely unpopular mobilisation of Russian teens, and show his people that he doesn't stand alone in the world. N Korean soldiers will be better supplied while they get some real world experience of combat, and it's no secret the Russians are paying for the services with cash, as well as supplies of food and fuel for Korean soil. Who knows what else may be agreed in the arrangement.

But militarily in that particular conflict it makes no odds.

But will they come home to " bring it home " ?  If the Russians are loosing between 1200 and 1500 a day it wont take long to use them up .

10,000 little Korean guys in one spot with say 6000 up front, spaced a metre or two apart on say a 6 or 8 km front with 4,000 in reserve, backed up by a few hundred Russians pointing them in the right direction? And making sure they carry on in that direction🤔. Even before adding artillery, rockets and mortars would make quite a dent in the Ukrainian defence!

NK is China's little proxy fighting for Russia.

To believe otherwise is phantasy.

Could be, yeah, but there do seem to be a few Koreans among the dead and POWs so far, and I've not read about any Chinese among them yet but that could definitely change as more of them appear... I'd love to read anything you might have seen on the subject, too 👍
