Husky 545 Mk II ??

Looking for a saw for aerial work to replace my (unbeatable) 346 XP 4.8 kg 2.5kW.

What about the 545 Mk II? Lots of intermittent on/off work required. Anyone got any experience of this saw ? It's 5.3 kg 2.7 kW. I was hoping for something sub 5kg as we're none of us getting any younger.

Could look at Stihl, but reluctant as the only ones I use are top handles saws so relucant to move though may consider it.

Not used either, but is the Husky 545 not a tuned down version of the 550? Both are 50cc 5.3kg.

Another option would be the 540ixp, roughly equivalent to a 40cc, 2.9kg then 1.3kg-1.9kg for battery.

And as stubby says, do up the old 346

I'd consider 261 as long as its nothing like an 026 which was the approximate equivalent 346 at the time, and one of the most under-powered saws I've ever had the misfortune of using.

I appreciate we've moved a long way since then, but the point I'm makin is that the actual numbers (e.g. power rating) don't always reflect real life performance.

Would also  mean new bars and chains though which is a bit of a waste. Upgrade of my trusted 346 it may be...

Appreciate everyone's comments, thanks.
