So I'm just watching a documentary on ITV about the World Trade Centre attack. It's mainly just lots of footage taken by people that were there or nearby. Public and emergency services. It's powerful stuff, actually quite harrowing at times, seeing poor folk jumping out off windows etc. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to have to make that decision.

I didn't pay much attention when it happened 20 years ago, probably too young.

It’s one of those events that I think everyone will remember where they were, when they found out. (If they were old enough to know about it).

TBH having been to the memorials a few years ago and heard some of the audio clips of voicemail messages people on the ‘planes left for loved ones, I couldn’t bring myself to watch.

I remember coming home from secondary school and it was on the tv in the lounge in my folk's house.

 

It's still killing people to this day, all the toxic dust and asbestos that rained down on the city, pretty grim

Yep , I was doing some landscaping for a client when he called me into the house to watch it as it unfolded... I'm older and very very much has changed since then ! cheers.

A great reason to keep a bail-out kit in your office or apartment, if you live/work in a high rise. Very long thin rope, simple harness and automatic descender device.

I remember coming back from college and went to a mates house, walk in and said this like odd film. As I said that the second tower got hit. Grim scenes!

Good plan, but100+ floors up? That's some rope.

Why not have a parachute instead?

Go with a 'chute if you want, bro - I'll stick with a long rope!
