Rippling problem with Lucas mill

Have you tried rocking the chain side to side in the bar? The rails can splay or wear surprisingly quickly if the set-up isn't quite right.

Is the frame all bolted up properly ?  Is it the one with the V twin Kholer engine ?

Not used a milling chain but should it not have a hook on it?

Chain is 5 skip oregon 27rx. Profile looks ok.
Bar looks old,
As I said before will be one of the things I mentioned so if set up is good it must be bar or chain.
I would be taking bar off and checking gap and squaring edges off. Sharpen chain and set raker height. And see where you are.

Yes it should, and the depth gauges need setting to the same height.

 

ive had this sort of washboard effect on milled logs. And it all really boils down to bad chain maintenance.

 

edit, on a chainsaw mill (alaskan), if you want smooth boards you really have to be good at filing and do regular touch ups

The chain shouldn't have a big hook like a cross cut chain. They're is a balance between cutting speed and board finish. The op however cuts slowly with a bad finish.
Even when my chain is dull my lucas still cuts with a clean finish, just slower.
