Neck protectors?

I'm doing my climbing course shortly so thought I would cheer myself up reading the HSE Case studies on chainsaw fatalities, as you do.  There are a surprising number of chainsaw fatalities where the person died due to a cut to the neck but I can't see any helmets with side neck protection.  Is this just because they'd be too hot to use?

As long as you use the saw how they ( the instructors )  want you to , you  will live . No point in trying to climb in a suit of armor if there is no need bud .

I think people cut their arms far more than they cut their neck. But I guess you are much less likely to survive a cut to the neck.

All saw cuts are down to improper use of the saw. If you use good technique and don't cut corners you will be fine. Easier said than done mind.

helmets unlikely stop chainsaws but may deflect it slightly, ive wondered why you cant buy some sort of collar of protective fibres, ive seen sleeves, and theres obviously the trousers and chaps.

sure it would be hot but there must be some way to work with it if its gonna potentially save your life?

all this excluding the usual comments which will follow about proper working practices and such.
