Death of Cheques!

Oh and its free! Card machines are not the solution for tradesmen etc. I don't think. Just get your customers paying by internet transfer. If you start now, you'll find them all doing it by 2018. And even now you pay to put cheques into a business account but you don't with internet trannsfers.

Cheques will be gone well before that. This mobile phone payment thing is being trialled including sending payment by sms.

More scary though is the microchip inserted into your hand/arm..... VERY SCARY.

I personally cant see cheques being around for more than another year or so, i know 2018 is the date set, but already most people wont accept them.

WTF:confused1:

Maybe I'll stop listening to radio 4 and just ring you each evening to keep up with things:001_rolleyes:

A date has NOT been set, it may be set in 2016 :001_smile:

I still pay 90% of my bills by cheque, with no problems at all.

Definatly charges for paypal. I don't really think that is the way forward for us but it is an option.

Transfering money via internet banking is free though isn't it?? If its not then I'm sure its cheaper than cheques.

Not sure if it's free or not, but i WONT be in 10years time, as it becomes the norn banks will jump on the band wagon and charge just like paying in cheques. Remember 20 years ago when Diesel was peanuts cos almost no one had a diesel car cos they were almost like tractors, look now, very popular and the cost has shot up. It will still be quicker though and no bouncing so that will be worth the cost.

We started paying all our bills, especially the larger ones by internet transfer because you the money comes out your account straight away, rather than when paying by cheque the recipient holding onto it for ages before cashing it!We are being payed by this method more often now too.Only thing is you have to keep on top of your banking to notice if you've been paid or not.Stevie why don't you use a fuel card for your fuel,it's alot handier, only one invoice to keep for your records every month.:001_smile:
