As a customer only, ( I spent 20 years self employed serving the public) some of your answers are very clever. If it gives you a bit of satisfaction, crack on. 

 

It's a personal choice, why the need to appear arrogant and offensive, surely a simple, no thank you, we don't offer that facility would do? 

 

I never had a slack day in 20 years working for myself. I also never advertised. 

 

Just saying like. I said to myself I wouldn't get involved in these type of discussions on here, but seriously you've wasted your time quoting as soon as a comment like those exits your mouth. It might give you a bit of satisfaction, but I guarantee, that little exchange of words will also extend beyond the customer you've just had it with.

My initial question was half in jest and my standard answer is "sorry, everything has to go through the books." 

I was just starting  some discussion to break up the day.. 

 

As a medium sized firm with three teams out, I probably have more clients than many so probably get asked the question more. I find it interesting that so many respectable people are happy to ask me to break the law to save them a few quid.

It’s not just them that saves a few quid though is it?
