I have the Stihl 220 battery saw with the 3/8 chain. I have the chain link breaker and riveter so I bought a 100 feet on a reel. Going to make my own chains today. This must be the most cost effective way to maximise profits even my batteries can be charged from my solar panels.

How does this work out cost wise? Say for an 18" bar chain.

What other equipment is needed to make the chain?

Thanks in advance.

Prob not with the bar oil in it.

Ahh they will! I give most of mine to a lad with lots of chickens, he says theyre fine with it. Sometimes give some to a lad that has horses, he says theyre fine too. That aside, they look very similar to what i’ve produced today with my msa220 running sthil 3/8 .050 semi chisel chain. Whats your thoughts for asking?

Just re all the comments about the cheap chain.

When I took the pic that had done about 30 ibc's of hardwood and 30 ibc's of semi dirty softwood. Its not been sharpened at all. It has been re tensioned twice.

I find similar with my little MSA120's Stihl chain. It's cut a fair bit for me and hardly needs sharpening. I wonder what some people must do to require cheap chains and reels unless you have loads of dirty jobs or you're cutting loads of wood.
