What's the correct method to take this hung tree down?

My normal method is somewhat messy and being a hobbyist, I'd like to get the opinions of those in the know. 

 

How would you tackle this?

Cut it off at base and then winch it.

Where would you attach the winch to the tree and in what direction would you pull?

Backwards. Away from the tree its resting on. If you don't have a winch, sever the bottom and get a pole and lever it back

Don’t fell the tree it’s hung in is he important bit! 
 

if you choke a sling around the trunk just above the cut(you haven't made yet) to winch from and other end on a sturdy tree.

A felling bar with a cant hook on can help to roll it.

Could try a letter box cut then shave away one side and see if you can roll it off the tree using a felling lever? (if its not stuck tight)

if not try the winch.

Too far from sussex, or I would have popped round and sorted it for beer tokens. Be careful with hung up trees they can throw out some surprises.
