A customer who likes to know what they're buying is only a pain to a dishonest seller.

Now I really am going. There's no point staying on a forum where an honest and legitimate desire to learn is met with criticism and abuse.

Good luck with those aggression issues.

good luck with your cubic metre of wood mate

I wasn't going to add to this thread but now I've changed my mind. A quick look on google would have given you more information of Ash than you would ever need and yes there are a number of customers who are a real pain even when your honest and explain what they are buying.

IMO it's more important that the wood is well seasoned than what type of wood it is.

if i were to charge for my advice given out to customers every day about :

what wood to burn

how to burn it

where it comes from

what it comes in

how to use the stove

what colour it is

what tree is its mother

wher was it grown

is it sustainable.......etc

then i would be a very very rich man,

most big companys, especially computer firms charge £1 per min for their info

you owe us a frigging fortune mate:sneaky2:

Dont be so silly.

Its been a funny and interesting thread just must agree on that!!

There is a lot of really interesting stuff to learn on here.

You just came across as too suspicious and not trusting,ie wanting too much for nothing. Thats all.

As a quick parting shot did you try and ident some ash?

Sorry but just got add a little extra that you have taken some of the posts very negatively but your question has been fully answered by people that know what they are talking about also with pictures.

I've learn't a hell of a lot from this forum since joining it and i'm sure that there is still more to learn from other members

I must admit, this thread has given me a certain amount of amusement, but the people who have criticised wansronian have based opinions upon all his threads and posts. He really was suspicious about his said supplier, but it seemed he was going to get a good deal.

He went on to call many untrustworthy and dishonest, but yet himself, came on this thread three times saying he was going. But still came back. On that basis alone i would not like to deal with such a customer myself.

So, if you do return mate(again), please take on board all comments (your own included), and seperate the the bits where people were taking the mick, the comments you were offended by(i feel initiated by yourself) and i think you will find, you got all the infomation you were after, for FREE!

Happy log hunting. Pete.

If somebody feels hard done by, which I would imagine he did, and you expect that you are getting a right slagging off somewhere, it's pretty much irresistible to return to fight your corner. Bit harsh to call it dishonesty IMO
