Cannot believe I still have this timber trailer, has everyone decided that their is no money in forestry or is money that tight due to the rise in interest rates.

A bit like all the big chippers, mogs, monster tractors and timber trailers, there is so much of this gear purchased and parked up around here,a lot of it doesn't turn a wheel more than once a year and that would be because its in the way. Way too many folk buying gear they think they want instead of thinking about what they actually need, there are rather a lot of very expensive and rapidly depreciating yard ornaments out there. Just saying.

Top of the pile IMO would be FaoFar - with Cranab Crane.

Also in the top makes would be Farmi, Kesla, Guerra, Kronos, FMV (long gone).

In the middle would be Palms, Mowi / Moheda.

Best budget machine would be Farma - but can't cope with the rigours of Flat Out Forestry.

Botex (and their dealer) are absolute shite. Anyone who promotes them must be in the same Lodge and feature in APF photoshoots 🤣.

Think part of the problem is the loss of forestry equipment dealers so no trading market available.

Some must be to do with the changing face of forestry, a lot of the new kit is so much more desirable and useful than the 40 year old technology I used.

I think there is a lot of truth in that.  As cool as a county is it lacks the versatility and comfort of a modern 6 cylinder tractors. Same with harvesters and forwarders.
