Anyone else noticed these more  recently whilst on a job ?

Down south they are not usually a problem but have gone for me a lot today .they only seem to come out from about 2:30  then all go on a mass feeding frenzy.

I don't remember mosquitos being a problem when I have been in Scotland during the summer but midges were something else.

 

Gnats/Mosquitos were not as bad this year as others where I am, not sure why because warm and wet should favour them, of course there is a general fall in insects.

 

Ticks seemed very much on the increase.

Down here ( West Sussex )  warm and wet = horse flies . they are total cnuts .

Yeah, Clegs, Stouts what do you know them by?

 

Whereas a gnat sticks a needle in you the clegs seem to take a chunk out. I think midges are more like minature clegs.

Round here they are Oss flies :D Nasty things, one poisoned my thumb a few years back and it's only just recovered.
