if you think getting an OEM coil is the issue then let me know what you suggest

OK @adw £39.50 of OEM ignition coil from Husky dealer on its way.....

They cross referenced it against the serial number on the plate so its without doubt 'the' coil.

Fingers crossed

Might aswell have bought a new saw at this rate you,ll have spent as much soon?

Yes @gary112 you are right

i have tried to see this clearly

1) a lot of the mucking cost and fuss is down to my ineptitude - But I wanted to learn and this has been fast learning

2) some of the stuff can go back especially the aftermarket coil which was sold as 435 suitable and if it’s not then they can get stuffed

3) some stuff like a spare carb will be handy to have

4) my brother in law is a big chainsaw man and advice was that  the cheap ones are nevet as good as you think they are going to be and stay with Husky or Stihl if I can

5) given 4 being the case then I would have to spend min £250+to get a new one and the repair will have been about £60

6) once this is fixed it’s had such a service that surely it will last for a bit

7) I had an einhell one long ago and it was Thomas Tit

but this is the absolute last throw of the dice for it though

Yes  @Vedhoggar very fair point also made by my brother in law

i intend to use super from now on and make sure there is no ethanol in it

it lasts longer without going off too

If you are an infrequent user you could use an Alkylate fuel such as Aspen or Huqvarnas own version . It can be left in the saw for long periods and has no Ethanol , won't attack the rubber components ( although it will show up what the pump fuel has done already )  wont give a headache and leaves the internals of the saw free from carbon . It won't remove carbon that is already there though . If you run a saw on Aspen from the get go and strip it down after a years contentious use there will be no carbon deposits and a minimal brown staining on the piston .

Majority of unleaded 95 octane in UK Contains up to 5% ethanol but no requirement for renewable fuel like ethanol to be added to super unleaded 97 grade petrol, BP Ultimate does not have ethanol added except in SW England likewise Esso Super 97 grade the same except in SW England, Teeside and Scotland. UK Gov would like to add more ethanol but only domestic refinery for adding ethanol closed and importing it would counter environmental benefit.

You could get a 135 for about £180, different chain and bar but similar saw. My early 135 has been good with no problems in the time I've had it, about 6 years I reckon. It has been run on Aspen for most of that time. I have an old Dynamac DY41 from Machine Mart which I resurrected with a £3 eBay carb kit after I thought it was done for which was why I bought the 135.

I got some alkylate fuel.

I had to get the Stihl one called Motomix becuase all three Husky dealers in a 25 mile radius from me don't sell the Husky fuel. I am not sure how you are supposed to buy it if the dealers don't sell it.

Anyway there are about 3 trillion stihl dealers locally (not that much of an exaggeration) and they sell 5l fro £20. OK that price would qualify as a crime against humanity but it's about the same price as the Aspen etc and at least I can get hold of it.

I've out it in the Husky hedge trimmer and it's made, in my opinion, a big difference to the starting and running.

So I will use it in the chainsaw if that ever gets fixed  - still waiting on the part from the Husky dealer.
