Would you hire a firefighter?

Hi guys

I've been pretty interested and invested in doing arborist work and I'm just about to take the plunge and book on the courses.

I'm currently working as a firefighter. My shift pattern being 2 day shifts 2 night shifts 4 days off. Would you be willing or do you think people would be willing to take me on with such a weird shift pattern and only working part time?

Many thanks

I have a mate who previous to being a fireman, was an arborist. He has all his tickets, and I now use him for all my climbing ! He also hires my chipper for his private jobs, and I use him to help me on labouring. So yes is the answer to your question

Please God don't let @kevinjohnsonmbe see this, there will be hell to pay.

Ya prick! I probably wouldn’t have until you pulled me into it ??

Hell why not?  Just as well supplement the excessively generous union protected T&Cs that ensure you only work ½ a week, sleep at work and have the luxury of striking while the armed forces do your job with antique equipment....

Why not set yourself up as self employed as well and draw down the tax benefits of a second job as discount off the tax payer funded salary tax liability you currently have...
