I've been to two mates funerals already this year, I've heard today another mate died in his sleep last night. Then I get another call to tell me an old boy I've met a few times from another forum died in a light aircraft crash yesterday. I'll be glad when this year is over.

As you get older it’s more and more likely that your contemporaries will shuffle off this mortal coil.

In all probability your friends won’t stop dying next year.

Your lifeclock (a la Logan’s Run) is changing colour.

Death and tax egger, pretty much the only dead cert's in life.....  ('cuse the pun)

You can dodge 'em for a while but they'll get you in the end ?

Best spend your money and enjoy your life - arrive at the hole penniless at 90 mph, stick in a handbrake turn and take the corner leaving only the smell of burning rubber....

And the moral of that story is don't have any friends, life will be happier....

I understand that as we get older more of our mates shuffle off, but three of them are lads under 60, one killed himself with the booze, one died in what seems to be an accident, but it's still a fair tally.

I had to laugh with you Stubby, but it's made my mind up, I'm packing down and moving back North. I think I've sorted a place to pull the truck on, it might take a few weeks to sort but I want to be around my lot.
