What is the best chainsaw to use for a wood yard and firewood

Im after recommendations for a powerful chainsaw to use in a wood yard for firewood. I have lots a big lengths which are around 1/2 to a meter in diameter so need something with good power and long bar preferably a stihl chainsaw

We had a husky 365 in the yard for years ( bulletproof ) until it got stolen .

Why preferably a Stihl?lots of options as you probably find out from here.personally i would go Husky 560/562xp or maybe Dolmar,look up Shavey on here,he does Dolmar/Makita and is very good to deal with,alternatively if you can get a good Husky 372xp then you would have a great saw

Because new huskys are junk! ?

Husqvarna 395XP if you can get hold of one .

I use a husqvarna 572 for most ringing up. Goes well with a 24inch bar but it's still light enough to use day to day. 550/560 are good on 15inch bars for smaller stuff. Our 3 have done a few years now with no issues.

I run an 044 with a 20” bar, does bog down on harder woods, but for an old saw quite happy doing a few hours every week or so, a nice saw for the money if you get a decent deal on flee bay.

If you preferred Stihl for that size of timber i would go 660/ 661

I take my tuned and ported 660 to my woodyard and pop on the 20” bar. Yes it’s a handful but if you want bigger stuff ( but not oversized ) sliced up in a hurry, then this is the brother [emoji106]
