You'd want 4 guys on that.

Not if most of the timber is staying on site, anything 5” upwards makes good logging use.i still say £1’400 3 Man Team 1 day Stump Grinding £275/£375 so he should be looking at the whole job done for just under or around the £2’000 mark.

we all have our own way of doing jobs and pricing that’s why we are all making a living doing what we do,not all quoteing jobs the same.

Just had a quote of £4470 + VAT which doesn’t include stump grinding. From what’s been said so far, this seems a little on the high side?

WTF...no no no that will take it to well over £5k it can be done for half that price so who ever gave you that price tell them to do one.

You'd be welcome to it for that.

If I had 2 groundies I'd be spending most of my time waiting up the tree. I wouldn't very much like to be keeping cord for logs too. If it chips it goes through.

That's some seriously thick timber there. Even if it's staying it'll still have to be manageable. Anyone putting less than 2 grand on that is running themselves into the ground. Have at it.

Agreed. I would not want to be one of two groundies trying to keep up with a half decent climber on that drag.
Maybe you can park a tracked TW230 at the base of the tree and chip everything into those bushes at the back? Then you have a fighting chance.

Steve reckons 2 groundies is enough but then he's a climber.....

Like I said jo we all have our own ways of doing jobs and pricing..you don’t fancy it that’s fine that’s why we all have work because someone will do it...quoting for jobs isn’t rocket science and if a local tree surgeon team of 3 couldn’t take that tree down in a day for less then £4.5k + vat then there are some seriously well off tree companies in and around the Cardiff area If that is there price structure.
