You might have seen news regarding the impact of the Coronavirus on Chester Zoo - they are closed indefinitely and as a charity, they have no incoming funds.

They are appealing for donations of particular tree species to use as animal feed (see attached photo for details)

I hope that you’ll all pass the word round to anyone you know working in the area? Donations of feed for the animals could make a huge difference to the financial future of the zoo!

Thanks ?

Hi Les

You may remember me I used to deliver browse to you when I lived up there and ran the Cheshire west and Chester council team of eurotrees now assist euro.  My partner Jenny is a zoo keeper and worked at Chester zoo 5 years ago. Now works for Bristol.

Try calling Simon kimber the tree officer for cwac. (If he still is)

And mick wall at assist euro. I think he's on here as well he may well be able to help out. We cut so much poplar which I know is good browse.

Another friend up that way is Will of Cestrian tree care. Worth a shout. And Rob at trebor. He's runcorn based I think

We ran out of the army barracks as assist had the contract there. So just opposite you guys.

Good luck. Giraffes and elephants are hungry beasts.
